Bruno Mars biography

Bruno Mars saw the light of day under the real name of Peter Hernandez Jr. on October 5th, 1985 in Waikiki (Hawaii, USA), where he also grew up. His parents are of Puerto Rican and Filipino descent and have five other children in addition to Peter. In the musical family he came into contact with a wide variety of musical styles.

At a young age he began influential musicians like Michael Jackson or Elvis Presley to imitate. At the age of four, Bruno was dubbed "Little Elvis" by MidWeek magazine. In 1992 Mars starred in the US comedy film "But not with my bride - Honeymoon in Vegas". After graduating from high school in 2003, he moved to Los Angeles (California, USA), where he wanted to pursue a career in the music business.

As a singer he made his first musical appearance as a featured artist on an album by Far * East Movement. Before his own singing career, Bruno Mars was successful as a producer for Flo Rida, Sean Kingston, Alexandra Burke and others, among others. He was also directly involved in various pieces and thus achieved his first notoriety.

The debut EP "It's Better If You Don't Understand" was released on May 11, 2010 and reached position 99 on the US Billboard 200 charts. Bruno Mars' debut single was released on July 20th, 2010 under the title "Just The Way You Are" and is also the lead single for the album "Doo-Wops & Hooligans", released on October 5th, 2010. It reached sixth place on the official Billboard Hot 100. In Australia it was ranked tenth, in New Zealand five and in Canada 13th. After the album was released, a tour of the USA and Europe followed.

In February 2014 and 2016, Bruno Mars appeared in the Super Bowl halftime show. In 2014 at the side of Red Hot Chili Peppers, two years later with Coldplay and Beyoncé.
