Emma Watson biography

British actress Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born on April 15th, 1990 in Paris (France). The family lived in the French capital until their daughter was five years old. When the parents separated, the mother moved with her and her brother to Oxfordshire (Great Britain), where the desire to become an actress manifested itself.

So she then already played in a few plays in a theater school and was seen there several times in a leading role. There Watson learned to dance, sing and act. The young actress graduated from high school with excellent grades. Emma achieved the top grade A three times.

Emma Watson celebrated her cinema debut and at the same time her worldwide breakthrough in 2001 with her role as Hermione Granger in the film "Harry Potter and the Orphan's Stone". Like the other two main actors Daniel Radcliffe (as Harry Potter) and Rupert Grint (as Ron Weasley), she also embodied this character in the other film adaptations of the book series by J. K. Rowling.

After the recordings for "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" there were doubts whether Emma would play the role of Hermione Granger again. As with the other two leading actors, the contracts had expired and she was the longest of all to sign a new contract. She explained her hesitation by saying that it would mean signing again for four more years. In the spring of 2007, Watson was the last of the leading actors to sign the deal for the remainder of the film. In the same year she was named Best Female Actress at the ITV National Film Awards.

The young actors all received a lot of praise from the trade press for their performance in the sixth part of the novel. In particular, the performance by Emma Watson was praised. The Washington Post even saw the actress' most adorable appearance yet. In addition to her role as Hermione Granger, she also starred in the 2007 BBC television film "Ballet Shoes". However, this received extremely bad reviews, but still reached 5.7 million viewers.

For the animation film "Desperaux - The Little Mice Hero" she lent her voice to the character of Princess Pea. The recordings for the seventh and final part of the Harry Potter films began in February 2009 and lasted until summer 2010. In order to do justice to the volume of the tape and the plot, the film was split into two parts. In between, Emma Watson worked as a model for the Burberry fashion house. She later created a spring and later an autumn and winter collection for the fair-trade fashion label People Tree.

Emma Watson gets her German dubbing voice in the Harry Potter films from the dubbing actress Gabrielle Pietermann. In "Desperaux - Der kleine Mäuseheld" Maria Koschny took on the task of the German dubbing.
