NoteWe deliver general-purpose versions of graphics drivers for general purposes. Computer manufacturers may have made adjustments or changes to features, the graphics driver software, or the software packaging. To avoid possible installation incompatibilities, Intel recommends that you first check with your computer manufacturer and use the driver software they have provided.

Upgrading your graphics driver can be useful for the following reasons:

  • For solving graphic technology problems. Examples: graphics disruptions when gaming, Windows displays a graphics error.
  • Your computer manufacturer recommends a graphics update.
  • When recommended by an Intel customer support professional.

There are two methods for installing an Intel® graphics driver on Windows® 10 and Windows 8 * / 8.1 *:

Before proceeding: Make sure that you have correctly identified the Intel® Graphics Controller available in your computer.

1st method: automatic detection and installation of the driver (recommended)

Use the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to find and install the correct version of the graphics driver on your computer.

2nd method: manual installation

This section explains how to manually install the Intel® Graphics Driver. Select your operating system from the list below and follow the instructions.

To manually install the Intel® Graphics Driver on Windows® 10, do the following:

  1. load Download the video driver from the download center or from the computer manufacturer.
  2. If the driver software was downloaded as a zip file, unzip The file in a desired location or folder.
  3. Right click on the WindowsbeginIcon and choose You the Device manager.
  4. When User Account Control prompts you to grant access, click on Yes.
  5. Expand The section Graphics cards.
  6. Right click on the entry for the Intel® graphics and chooseUpdate driver.
    Note

    If no Intel® graphics driver was previously installed, the entry for the graphics Microsoft Basic Display Adapter * ring.

    Some Intel® Graphics Products are incompatible with Windows 10. For more information, see Supported Operating Systems for Intel® Graphics Products.

  7. click on Check for drivers on my computer.
  8. click onSearch and choose the directory in which the driver files are located. (For an example, see 1:20 marking in the videos above.)
  9. click onOK and finally onFurther. The drivers will now be installed.
  10. start Rebuild your computer.

To manually install the Intel® Graphics Driver on Windows * 8 / 8.1, do the following:

  1. Download the graphics driver inDownload Center or from the computer manufacturer.
  2. If the driver software has been downloaded as a zip file, unzip The file in a desired location or folder.
  3. Press together the buttons Windows + X,to the Device manager to open.
  4. When User Account Control prompts you to grant access, click onYes.
  5. Expand the sectionGraphics cards.
  6. Right click on the entry for the Intel® graphics and chooseUpdate driver.
    Note

    If no Intel® graphics driver was previously installed, the entry for the graphics Microsoft Basic Display Adapter * ring.

  7. click on Check for driver software on my computer.
  8. click onSearch and choose the directory in which the driver files are located (see for example 1:20 marking in the videos mentioned above)
  9. click onOK and finally onFurther. The drivers will now be installed.
  10. start Rebuild your computer.

Verification of the installation

To check whether the driver installation was successful:

  1. Double click the installed Graphic card.
  2. click on the tab driver.
  3. Check, if she Driver version and the Driver date are correct.
